Six Months

Another month has gone by as Aliyah has now reached the 6-month mark.  At her doctor's appointment this afternoon she weighed in at 17.4 pounds (74th percentile) and measured 26.6 inches (81st percentile).  This past month she experienced her first grocery shopping trip.  I finally gained the courage to take both kids with me when getting groceries.  Eli was in charge of navigating by steering the cart so that kept him busy.  I think Lia enjoyed the new sights and sounds.

Aliyah's eating patterns have remained the same, taking 6 ounces every 3 hours during the day for a total of 30 ounces.  Her morning nap has been stretching out now from 1 to 2 hours at a time.  She wakes up at 7:00 a.m., sleeps from 9:00 to 11:00 in the morning and then takes 2 afternoon naps from 12:30 to 2:00 and 4:00 to 5:00.  She is ready for bed at night after her last bottle at 8:00.  She is now ready to move up from size 2 to size 3 diapers and size 6-month clothes.

She has been more active this past month, rolling over more frequently.  Her favorite toys continue to be the crinkle books that she loves to put in her mouth.  I think she will enjoy playing with her toys even more and become more interactive when she is able to sit independently.  Lia will experience solid food for the first time starting this weekend.  I'm sure big brother Eli will want to participate in feeding her from the spoon as well.  Happy 6-month birthday, baby girl!
