I have found that I am addicted to online shopping as it offers so much more selection and often at a discounted price versus some stores. Plus, I love the idea of knowing what it is I want to get and then finding what I had envisioned in my mind online. With a few clicks of the mouse, the purchase is made and a few days later arrives at my doorstep. You know you are a frequent online shopper when both the UPS man AND FedEx guy arrive at your house not only on the same day BUT also the same time, which is exactly what happened to me a few weeks ago.
Anyway, before I get too carried away about all the benefits of online shopping, here are some pictures of what was once a room painted in bright gold with a sun/moon/stars wallpaper border, now transformed into a sage green/brown color scheme with a jungle motif.
Below is a picture that includes one of my favorite aspects of the decor: the personalized name blocks. I searched and searched until I found exactly what I was looking for on Etsy.com, and these blocks matched the color palette and the theme of the room perfectly! Thanks to Cassie for introducing me to this website which I have ordered from quite frequently:) Also, the crafty magnetic board hanging above the dresser is courtesy of Cassie, which is now being used to display the first ultrasound pictures.
...and a zoomed in picture for the full effect:
Ian and AJ spent a Sunday afternoon (gladly:) assembling all the furniture. Since the nightstand arrived a week or so later, I contributed to the furniture assembling by putting it together myself which is not my area of expertise. After a few bumps in the road even with following the instructions, I managed to complete the task.
Lastly, a view of the changing table and a decorative picture holder/display I received from Cari, which is now doubling as a display filled with quotes I found online relating to babies and families and then used scrapbooking materials to decorate.
