This post is based on a "31 Day Blog Challenge" with a list of 31 topics, which I revised to a shorter list while eliminating the ideas I have previously blogged about:
Earliest childhood memory: Attending preschool - the first childhood experience that fostered my love of learning while developing a yearning to become a teacher
Guilty pleasure: Enjoying a bowl of ice cream while watching "Keeping up with the Kardashians" and then settling into an afternoon nap
Three personality traits I am proud of: Honesty, loyalty, and ability to listen
Top 10 favorite foods: McDonald's: Chicken nuggets, fries, crispy chicken/bacon ranch salad, deep fried beer battered cod fish, French toast, "Marshmallow Mateys" cereal, green bean casserole, fruit pizza, French silk pie, chocolate cake with chocolate frosting
Top 5 favorite drinks: "Chocolate Shamrock Shake" from McDonald's, strawberry/banana smoothie, fruit flavored water, Dr. Pepper, fruit punch
Old photo of me: High school senior year
Piercings and tattoos: Neither - not interested in getting either but I would probably get a tattoo before any kind of piercing. If I had to choose a design, I would choose the quote "This too shall pass..." in purple/teal green/neon green colors on the top of a foot towards the outer side. Now I don't plan on adding this to my bucket list any time soon (or let's be honest, probably ever) but these are the types of weird things that cross my mind as I am laying in bed at night.
First celebrity crush: Justin Timberlake
Most proud moment: Giving birth for the second time to a baby girl and Eli meeting his sister for the first time, becoming a family of four
If I won the lottery: Pay off the mortgage, take a trip, donate to locally worthy causes
Favorite quotes: "When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, 'I used everything you gave me.'" - Erma Bombeck
“Our job in this lifetime is not to shape ourselves into some ideal we imagine we ought to be but to find out who we already are and become it.” - Steven Pressfield
What is in my purse: Wallet, tissues, ChapStick, gum, notepad, kids' immunizations records (I'm truly not sure why I keep those in there - I record them in their baby books too but the doctor's office gave us these small, what appeared to be purse-sized cards to keep track of their immunizations so that is where they have been kept since)
Timeline of my day: 3:20-4:00 rise and shine/get ready for the day, 4:00-7:00 work, 7:00-7:50 get kids ready for the day, 7:50-8:15 daycare drop off, 8:15-11:15 work, 11:15-12:00 lunch break, 12:00-12:30/1:30 (sometimes later depending on productivity/types of reports that come through) work, 1:30-3:00 odds and ends around the house/run errands kid-free (or an occasional nap if time allows), 3:00-3:30 daycare pickup, 3:30-5:30 kids back home/play, 5:30-6:00 make supper, 6:00-6:30 eat, 6:30-7:00 baths/bedtime
Dream job: Exactly what I am doing now - working from home doing medical transcription. I think I will always prefer the work from home option now and I have a hard time imaging entering the workforce again in the "real world."
Favorite childhood book: Jennifer-the-Jerk Is Missing by: Carol Gorman
What I am afraid of: Uncertainty, losing control
Worst habits: Impatience, pessimistic attitude at times, gossiping, picking at hangnails, having a hard time letting little things go
Where I want to be in 10 years: Continuing to enjoy life no matter what season of motherhood I find myself in, raising kids to become more independent (in 10 years we will have an almost 16-year-old and 11-year old!)
Something I miss: The carefree days of first dating, "honeymoon" feeling of being newlyweds
Top 10 favorite songs: At the moment this is our current playlist for the car: "Flatliner" Cole Swindell (featuring Dierks Bentley), "Body Like a Back Road" Sam Hunt, "Somethin' I'm Good At" Brett Eldredge, "You Look Good" Lady Antebellum, "The Weekend" Brantley Gilbert, "Bar at the End of the World" Kenny Chesney, "Dirt on My Boots" Jon Pardi, "The Fighter" Keith Urban (featuring Carrie Underwood), "God, Your Mama and Me" Florida Georgia Line (featuring Backstreet Boys), "Bless the Lord" Matt Redman
Pet peeves: Grammar errors, conversation dominators, having to stop in the middle of a task to do something else, non-punctuality
Best physical features: My own favorites include my height and hairstyle
