Easter Egg Hunt 2016

This afternoon a local nursing home hosted their annual Easter Egg Hunt.  Eli moved up to the next age group this year in the 4 to 7-year-old area.  He even ran into one of his preschool friends while he was there.  Right at 1:00, the hunt began.  I mentioned to Eli a good strategy might be to go right away to the opposite side since there might not be a lot of kids there at the beginning so he would have less competition.  He followed my advice and slowly began to mosey in that direction once it started.  There were 3 golden tickets hidden in 3 different eggs that could be used to claim big prizes but we didn't end up with one.  Eli did still have a basket full of eggs by the end filled with Tootsie Rolls.  They also gave out treat bags to each of the kids and had a group of rabbits to see.

On our way home we stopped at Walmart and happened to be there when the Easter Bunny made an appearance.  There was a poster as we walked in noting the dates and times of his arrival and also stating you could take a "selfie" with the Easter Bunny.  A couple of years ago they were taking pictures for you and even printed a 5 x 7 picture with a decorative border right at the store to take with you.  I thought it was kind of funny the way they offered the opportunity to take a selfie; maybe they are cutting back this year...lol.

This morning we also dyed Easter eggs.  It was an enjoyable day with our Easter activities and we are looking forward to this upcoming weekend with our family get-togethers.
